The Board of Directors, leadership team and staff of Cedars extend their deepest condolences to the wife, children and grandchildren of Bruce Shadeed—Suzanne, Michael (Carole), Nicholas (Vanessa), Alexander (Camille), Emma Grace, William Bruce, Evelyne Pearl and his siblings, Maureen (Nehman) and Gerry (Bente), extended family and friends.
The successful CEO of a multigenerational family business, Bruces’s values, actions and philanthropy helped advance the adult and pediatric mission of the Cedars Cancer Foundation over the course of several decades. In helping to steward the Foundation’s regular fundraising efforts, capital campaigns, signature events, programs, and governance, first as a member of the Board of Directors and then as its Chair from 2010 to 2016, he had a profound impact on cancer patients of all ages and their families. The Board of Directors of the McGill University Health Centre and the Cedars Home for the Elderly (CHSLD Les Cèdres) also benefited over the years from his leadership, expertise and points of view.
If the measure of a man may be summed up in one sentence, Bruce Shadeed was a generous, sincere, caring, compassionate, and thoughtful man whose anchor in life was a love for family: his own and the community to which he was inextricably connected and committed to supporting. The Cedars family will miss him and his warm smile dearly. May he rest in peace.
