One in seven men in Canada will one day be given a prostate cancer diagnosis.
Prostate cancer can be slow-growing and some men may live many years before the cancer is detected. Regular screening is therefore vital so that if that one in seven men is you or a loved one, appropriate care can begin.
“Raising awareness about cancer prevention and early treatment is an important part of our mission”, states Jeff Shamie, President and CEO of the Cedars Cancer Foundation. “That is why Cedars is proud to support, year after year, the MUHC Men’s Health Day”.
The 2018 edition of MUHC Men’s Health Day, under the leadership of Dr. Peter Chan, was a resounding success. More than 280 men were seen by doctors and nurses at outside clinics. Cedars encourages those who did not register to make the effort to be screened.
