Dinner at Domaine de la Templerie

Join cancer survivor Dominique on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at Domaine de la Templerie in the beautiful Suroît region for an evening of amazing local foods. All proceeds will be given to Cedars CanSupport, a program that offers support to cancer patients and survivors, as well as to their family and care givers.

A Word from Dominique

“In the Fall of 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I just turned 44 and I felt perfectly fine. Cancer took me by surprise. I did not see it coming. It disrupted everything: my life, my routine, my plans…and it frightened me. I was really scared. I received excellent care at the Cedars Cancer Centre at the MUHC, and today, I am doing well. I am extremely grateful for everything that happened, for all the care and support I received throughout this journey. I hereby want to extend my most sincere thanks to the staff at the Cedars Cancer Centre. Thank you for your commitment and your dedication to patient care. Thank you for your smiles, your encouragements, your empathy, your gift of self and your profound humanity. It is most appreciated. And it makes a difference.

Cancer changes us. There is a before, a during, and an after to cancer. Personally, the period following treatment, after cancer, was the most challenging. I am still trying to come to grasp with everything that happened to me. How do I integrate this whole experience, with everything that it represents, into my journey and how do I go about moving on with it? Fortunately, there is a community out there, of people who make a difference. It is important for me to participate, to contribute. As such, I am happy to extend this invitation to you. Join me Spring is on its way, with its promise of renewal. Let’s get together and share a nice meal. Let’s celebrate life at Domaine de la Templerie!”
